Linda was sixteen then

Created by Anne 5 years ago

The first time I stayed at Eileen and John's in 1964, the twelve-year old French girl that I was ,struggling to communicate in English with every member of the Newson family, eventually managed to understand Eileen , spent a good time with Heather and her friends... But Linda, ah Linda, for us midgets, she was the epitome of beauty and charm, a tall, sparkling, strong-willed young lady who fought for" her freedom " at meal times and would listen to the Beatles again and again, an extraordinary daring thing to do in those days!

The Dupré family as a whole met Linda,Terry and baby Lisa in 1974, visited their first home that was undergoing renovations ...So much energy, so many plans in the budding family.

Five years ago, when Linda and Terry visited us in Saint Brice on their way back to England after a lovely holiday with their children and grandchildren in the south of France, we thought they were the epitome of happy ,active, supportive parents and loving grandparents with still many good years ahead of them.

Only two months ago, Linda and Terry invited me to stay at Sunnyside over a week-end before I went to Cambridge. Of course I could witness the damage caused by the dreadful illness but still managed to communicate with Linda and we also looked at albums of family photos, Linda even planned the places of interest we would go to including a beautiful Tudor barn nearby. When Terry and Linda saw me off at the station on the monday morning, Linda and I could feel that was a final farewell...

May Linda rest in peace, along with John, Eileen and her forefathers !
