My big Sister. My lovely, kind, beautiful big sister. Only 5 years older than me we had the usual sisterly scraps but what I will always remember is “Heather, Heather can you hear the fairy bells at the bottom of the garden?” “Heather can’t you hear the sleigh bells?......Santa is coming.” Whilst on holiday, my sister saved me from injury as a large boulder hurtled towards us both in Cheddar Gorge. Covering my whole body, I didn’t even have a scratch, my sister had a large gash on her head. My big sister became “guest speaker” at my 1st nature club and so her love of birds and nature began when we were both quite young. She continued this passion, passing on her knowledge and love to her children and anyone who crossed her path. She was always headstrong. “Mum why can´t I wear those white pointed stiletto heels?”………”I am leaving home” ……….She never did. Life was taken away far too young by this cruel disease. She bore this hideous illness with courage and dignity, her selfless character shining through constantly. He kindness and care for others is something that will always be remembered and as we grew older and lives became busy with work and families, there was timely and apt advice for me as my life went through many difficult patches. I followed this advice to the letter. What a hole she has left in so many lives. Terry, Lisa, Ruth, John and me, her little sister. Love you and miss you always. Heather
